Guernsey Investor Network (GIN) is operated by Innovate Guernsey, registered in Guernsey. We are registered as a data controller with the Office of the Data Protection Authority (ODPA) under The Data Protection (Bailiwick of Guernsey) Law, 2017.
What data we collect: name, email address, role (investor or innovator), island residency status, and for investors, application details. For innovators, pitch content including any uploaded documents.
Why we collect it: to operate the GIN platform, process investor applications, display pitches to approved investors, and facilitate introductions between investors and innovators.
How long we keep it: we retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you close your account, we will delete your personal data within 30 days except where we are required to retain it by law.
Who we share it with: we use Supabase to store data securely and Resend to send email notifications. We do not sell your data to third parties. Admin users can see all profile and pitch data for the purposes of running the platform.
Your rights: under Guernsey data protection law you have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data. To exercise these rights contact susan@innovateguernsey.com.
Public data: the public dashboard shows only anonymised aggregate statistics. No individual investor or innovator names or contact details are ever shown publicly.

What GIN is: GIN is a private matchmaking platform that connects island-based investors with innovators seeking capital. GIN facilitates introductions only.
What GIN is not: GIN is not a regulated investment firm. GIN is not licensed by the Guernsey Financial Services Commission. GIN does not provide financial advice. Nothing on this platform constitutes a recommendation to invest in any venture.
Investor responsibility: approved investors make all investment decisions independently and at their own risk. GIN does not verify the financial projections, business plans or claims made in any pitch. Investors should conduct their own due diligence before making any investment.
Innovator responsibility: innovators are responsible for ensuring all information submitted in their pitch is accurate and not misleading. Submitting false or misleading information may result in immediate removal from the platform.
Introductions: when GIN arranges an introduction between an investor and an innovator, all subsequent negotiations, agreements and transactions take place directly between those parties. GIN is not a party to any investment agreement and accepts no liability for the outcome of any introduction.
Limitation of liability: GIN and Innovate Guernsey accept no liability for any loss arising from use of this platform or from any investment made as a result of an introduction facilitated by GIN.
Termination: GIN reserves the right to remove any user or pitch from the platform at any time without notice.
Governing law: these terms are governed by the laws of the Bailiwick of Guernsey.
